Let us start with the classic. The Mt.A stone sign on York Street is the ultimate graduation photo landmark. It is the backdrop that screams,“I actually went here!” The stone, the lettering, the relief and the sense of accomplishment all work together to capture that perfect moment.

If you want your photos to show off your Mountie Pride, Alumni Field will be the best place to take that perfect graduation shot. After years of endless training and representing the school in their numerous games, taking your graduation photos on the field, will be a perfect way for the Mt.A athletes to crown their season. The open turf, the bold Mt.A logo and the grandstand will make a flawless backdrop for a spirited photo. But the field is not just for the athletes. If you are one of those die-hard Mountie fans who never missed a home game, the Alumni Field is also a perfect spot for you. You cheered so hard that you lost your voice, and probably spilled a number of beverages all in the name of school pride. You might as well make it a part of your grad story. Head to the bleachers and take a shot at the spot where you cheered your loudest!

Now, for nature lovers to have their turn. If you are a graduating student who loves the outdoors, head straight to Waterfowl Park. With its beautiful, peaceful serene environment and its tall grasses, lovely ducks and still ponds, it is almost impossible to take a bad shot there. Bring a friend along, lean on those wooden railings, and flash that impeccable smile, as the sun’s rays hit your hair at just the right moment, giving you that pure golden hour magic. Simple and yet incredibly stunning.

Just a heads-up: tossing your cap on the boardwalk might not be such a good idea… unless the ducks are graduating too!

Next up, It’s time for a touch of elegance with a little help from nature. Check out the Ladies’ College Park, also known as the Swan Pond. It can be found on campus behind Convocation Hall. With its gently rolling hills, a softly spraying water fountain, and the swan pond at its centre, it holds a wonderfully charming atmosphere. Whether you are seated cross-legged by the pond or you are leaning casually against a tree with your degree in hand, this spot gives you that soft fairytale vibe.

Last but not least, secure the ultimate fall backdrop at the Mt.A Barclay and Flemington buildings. The fiery, vibrant reds and oranges of the creeping vines that cover the walls, make this spot an absolute favorite during the autumn. You might be leaning against the walls, or tossing your cap into the air, whichever one it is that you choose, you are guaranteed a cozy, red fall aesthetic.

Make good use of Sackville’s photogenic spots. Grab your gown and cap, round up a few friends, and head out for an awesome day to remember. Create long-lasting memories and make them all a part of your Mt.A story!
