Who turned out the lights? I can’t see a damn thing. Did you know a person can be allergic to carving pumpkins? It’s rare but it turns out you can. How embarrassing. I was just finished scooping out the guts when I had to sit out the rest of the night with a box of tissues and a reactin. Pathetic. And then I forgot to take a picture of the sky before sundown. Ominous. Happy Halloween.

A bright and clear day. It’s the kind of sky that paints the buildings a different colour as the sun searches for gold in the west. There’s only one small cloud at the bottom there, and you can just barely make out the moon in the bottom right. It’s the sky the day after a night of northern lights. I couldn’t see them but my phone could. Another reason to be jealous of that thing.

The sky today holds a lot of emotional breadth. The storm clouds you see in the bottom left of the picture do indeed continue out of frame. So does the blue. It’s the kind of sky that can tell you a lot about yourself. It’s telling me that I need to get an umbrella. If you squint you might be able to see the head of a fox in the blue negative space of the clouds — maybe one of those arctic ones.
